"Dusting for evidence"
Does a layer of dust “form” or does it fall off other things and gather? So what happens when a much used space and a respected institution ceases to operate and stands dormant? This question is a little more rhetorical than being specifically about the Plimsoll Gallery. What about any space that was once busy or active? Apart from the structure itself or any remaining furnishings, is anything more elusive left behind? Taking the premise of the empty gallery as source material I am asking 3 sound artists and 2 video artists to search the field recordings or video footage of specific areas of the space for some kind of residue, whether real, imagined or somewhere between the two.
